Zain Iraq Signs A MOU with the American University of Iraq Baghdad Aiming to Enhance the Skills of Iraqi Students and Develop Their Academic and Practical Knowledge

As part of its efforts to achieve its vision of enhancing and empowering the capabilities and skills of the Iraqi youth generation, Zain Iraq, part of Zain Group - a leading mobile telecom innovator in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with the American University of Iraq Baghdad (AUIB). This collaboration aims to enhance the work and cooperation, develop youth talent in the country, and provide them with opportunities, by improving their educational tools, allowing them to improve academically, practically, and refine their knowledge and awareness.

This cooperation comes in line with Zain Iraq’s strategy in prioritizing the younger generations and working towards empowering them. This is done by providing them with the needed tools, means, and opportunities to express their ideas and acquire the skills and knowledge necessary to jump start life and pursue their dreams. Thus, allowing them to enhance their contributions in building a better tomorrow for Iraq.

The agreement between Zain Iraq and AUIB comprises the fields of qualification and training that include negotiation, financial resources, public relations, public speaking, customer service and other areas. This is in addition to the collaboration to provide basic and specialized training in English language and communication skills for professional use.

Zain Iraq and the American University of Iraq Baghdad will cooperate to provide support to university students through scholarships and grants for research, travel, sponsorship of activities and events, as well as any other support needed by Iraqi students.

The president of the American University of Iraq Baghdad, Dr. Michael Mulnix, for his part, said: “I am very pleased with this agreement, and with working with Zain Iraq, a leading company, and this step will allow us to deliver a lot for the youth of Iraq through the implementation of special programs. It will also allow us to benefit from Zain Iraq’s expertise to enhance the academic level of our students and provide them with opportunities to acquire the necessary skills, jump start working life and achieve success and distinction that would positively reflect on the Iraqi society and the future of its people.”

Under this agreement, efforts will be coordinated in the field of joint marketing initiatives, by opening sale offices for Zain Iraq on AUIB campus, using Zain Iraq’s network of customers and utilizing its capabilities in the media field to promote the programs and activities of the university.
