“Iraq's gender distribution, according to the latest data issued by the Ministry of Planning, is 49.5% women and 50.5% men. We, at Zain Iraq, launched a series of targeted women empowerment initiatives, programs, training workshops and development plans as part of our strategy to implement the 5th UN SDG towards achieving gender equality and women’s empowerment”, said Zain Iraq CEO, Ali Al-Zahid.
“Female representation in Zain Iraq stands at 29% of the total workforce, handling administrative, managerial and leadership roles within the company organizational chart. We are working towards increasing Female representation through workshops and coaching sessions designed to grow the potential of Zain Iraq female employees,” concluded Al-Zahid.
Zain Iraq initiated its women empowerment drive by organizing a series of forums, workshops, bazars and exhibitions, in addition to a training program for top fresh graduates at select Iraqi universities, where female participation reached 60%. The company also offers the opportunity for working mothers to register their kids in nurseries at nominal fees during working official hours.
