Zain Iraq, one of pioneering Zain Group mobile telecoms operators, signed a partnership and cooperation agreement with the Telecoms Ministry through a contract concluded with the ITPC. Attending the ceremony were ITPC Chairman Saleh Hasan Ali, the Telecoms Ministry senior technical consultant Mr. Ameer Al Bayatee, in addition to the General Inspector and the technical advisor of the Ministry.
The contract avails Zain Iraq the chance to use the fiber optic capacities of the national network to provide powerful and fast internet service. This will be of a good use once Zain Iraq launches the 3G service to all Iraqis.
Commenting on the contract signing, ITPC Chairman Mr. Saleh Hasan Ali said: " signing the contract is important as it represents the Telecoms policy implementation to give support to the private sector in order to enhance the telecoms sector in Iraq.". He also added that " our company will render all administrative and technical facilities available for Zain, such as getting the approvals to dig and spread the fiber optic cables."
During the press conference held after the signing ceremony, Mr. Ameer Al Bayatee on his part said " we congratulate the ITPC and Zain Iraq for signing the contract which validates the stability of the infrastructures and its ability to contain huge capacities for the requirements of the mobile customers at the outset of the 3G launch"
Commenting on the partnership between the private and public sectors and its impact on the Iraqi citizen Dr. Hyam Al Yasiri mentioned that " the contract is a unique experience of cooperation between the two sectors". She added that " Zain Iraq is the first company that resorts to using the local capacities of the fiber optic".
"This agreement will make the 3G launch a great opportunity to meet the requirements of the customers", Dr. Hayder Radhi the Technical Officer of Zain Iraq said. "This contract" he added, " will enable our company to connect the subsidiary stations with the main ones through a network of fiber optic cables where our company will launch the 3G service in a qualitatively great impetus". He also said, " Zain Iraq is the first operator to use the national capacities of the ITPC".
Zain Iraq looks forward to launching the 3G at the beginning of the next year according to the highest international standards with which Zain works. The current signing of the contract with ITPC is but a proof of the attention Zain gives to its customers who are at the core of its strategy. It will give every single customer a chance to experiment a new world.
