As part of its commitment to provide the latest digital solutions, Zain Iraq, part of Zain Group - the leading mobile telecom network provider in MENA, has launched a new service that enables subscribers to purchase apps, games and digital content on Google Play through their mobile phone balance for the first time in Iraq. The direct payment service was provided in collaboration with Google and DOCOMO Digital.

CEO of Zain Iraq, Mr. Ali Al-Zahid said: “This service, purchasing from Google Play, is in line with our goal to provide a premium service and experience. This service will facilitate digital transactions for subscribers, where they can freely enjoy digital content, subscriptions and in-app purchases while using the digital store on their smartphones, and this is exactly what we aim and aspire to bring to our customers.”

This service which allows direct payment from prepaid balance or charging purchases to a postpaid bill, is considered one of the most common payment methods for digital services, especially in emerging markets, as it offers swift and easy transaction in stores such as Google Play, as well as high security and billing control for telecom subscribers.

It is important to note that Zain Iraq is the first telecommunication company in Iraq to launch this service, which allows its subscribers to benefit from the purchase of digital content from Google Play and with mobile phone line.
