Zain Iraq continues its partnership with the Station

A joint cooperation to launch a series of programs and initiatives aimed at empowering the Iraqi youth and providing support for entrepreneurial and emerging projects

As part of its efforts to empower Iraqi youth and provide all the support and assistance they need, Zain Iraq, part of Zain Group, the leading mobile telecom innovator in eight markets across the Middle East and Africa, announced the continuation of its cooperation with the Station, the first co-working space in Baghdad and one of the pioneering institutions in the field of entrepreneurship in Iraq. Zain Iraq emphasized the importance of this continuous cooperation since the establishment of the Station in 2018 until today, and its keenness to provide support for the station’s activities.

The new agreement, which will last for three years, aims to increase and enhance cooperation between Zain Iraq and the Station, and to provide an opportunity for the corporation to benefit from Zain's Middle East expertise, especially in the field of empowering young people and helping them to develop their emerging, small and medium enterprises, within the framework of ZINC. This last provides the youth with all the support and assistance they need to advance their initiatives and market them in the business environment. The platform constitutes an integrated system of programs, initiatives, and tools that work to enhance the responsibility of entrepreneurship and activate a competitive entrepreneurial environment at the local and global level, in addition to creating strategic partnerships that deal with developing the economy in the field of entrepreneurship and creativity and aims to advance economic development in Iraq to build a better future.

This agreement will allow the Station to train its cadres, build its internal programs, benefit from Zain Iraq's presence, its regional location in the Middle East, and its interaction and extensive experience with the younger generation and emerging projects in eight countries. This is in addition to launching a series of initiatives and programs between the two parties during the coming month of Ramadan.  Details of these programs that aim to provide support for youth and entrepreneurial projects will soon be announced.

Zain Iraq CEO, Ali Al-Zahid, said: “Zain Iraq being one of the largest private sector companies in Iraq in terms of the number of users, which today amounts to more than 16 million, is distinguished by its capabilities to provide support and assistance to emerging small and medium enterprises, and to deliver products and services of these projects to the widest target group, thus increasing sales, promoting areas of growth, expansion, and creating job opportunities for the youth. Zain Iraq benefits from its cooperation with the Station, as it constitutes a platform and bridge for communication between the company, projects, and the youth to understand their needs and listen to their views regarding the services and products it provides and training programs that are of interest to them, thus empowering them and improving their skills.”

For his part, the Executive Director of the Station, Ammar Al-Khatib, expressed his happiness in continuing and strengthening the means of cooperation with Zain Iraq and said: “Since the launch of the station in 2018, Zain Iraq has been one of the most prominent and important supporters of our projects and goals. Thanks to this support, the Station has succeeded in becoming a starting point and inspiration for the ambitious Iraqi youth who have new and innovative ideas to launch in the field of business and entrepreneurial projects. And the experience at the Station goes beyond just being a place. The Station builds a productive and ambitious community that creates multiple job opportunities and promotes a culture of collaboration and innovation. Our cooperation with Zain Iraq allows us to benefit from Zain's expertise at the regional level in terms of training our cadres and expanding the scope of our projects. This in turn allows us to provide support for the ambitious Iraqi youth by enhancing their skills, enabling them to enter the labor market and converting their ideas and ambitions into successful projects that contribute to strengthening the Iraqi economy and building a better future for Iraq.”

Zain Iraq, through ZINC, the Zain Innovation Center, is keen to develop its programs and initiatives that target university students, graduates, and owners of emerging or small and medium enterprises. Zain Iraq is also working to expand the range of groups targeted by the platform, as it aims to introduce children and acquaint them with modern technologies and expand their horizons regarding the Internet of Things, artificial intelligence, and more.
