MOC Minister Visits Zain Iraq

MOC Minister Visits Zain Iraq .

In the light of the constructive cooperation between the Private and Govt. sectors, Mr. Hasan Al Rashid, Telecoms Minister paid a visit to Zain Iraq Company in Mansour and met with management and employees. The visit consolidated the call of Prime Minister Mr. Hayder Al Abady to consider the private sector as a partner in the infrastructure reconstruction and offer the best services to all Iraqis. Mr. Al Rashid said “Our visit to Zain Iraq is to enhance cooperation between the state and private sectors. On our part, we seriously work to back up the private sector and the private companies according to authorities given to us by the Ministry.” He also added that this visit “would let us know closely about the private sector companies”. The Minister also called for innovative patterns of cooperation between the two mentioned sectors.

In his welcome to the Minister, Dr. Haider Radhi, Zain Iraq Acting CEO for Technical and Regulatory Affairs said “with its tremendous direct investments in Iraq during the past 10 years, Zain Iraq is viewed as the biggest mobile operator with a customer base of 13.8 million as to the end of 2014. Our strategy is built on understanding the customer who becomes the focus of any service we give. The company has already invested about 5 billion US dollars in the infrastructures and equipment needed during the past 10-year period. It also accumulated regional and international expertise to become the most prominent operator in the country that is run by almost 3000 Iraqi specialized employees”.

The Minister Al Rashid visited Zain Call Center in its new facility and was informed of the status of services given according to the most up-to-date international criteria. Worth saying, Zain Iraq was the first operator to sign the national fiber optic agreement with the MOC. This step was to encourage investment in the national infrastructure that optimally enhances the national economy.
