In line with its commitment towards empowering Iraqi youth, Zain Iraq, part of Zain Group - the leading mobile telecom network provider in the MENA region, launched a training program for the top 10 students at Baghdad, Al Nahrain and Al Mustansiriya universities. This initiative stems from the company’s belief that the young generation is the heart of the Iraqi society. Zain Iraq is keen to provide support and encouragement to the youth, using all means available to motivate and equip them to materialize their ideas into successful projects through its planning and vision.

“This initiative complements our plan to support the youth”, said Ali Al-Zahid, CEO, Zain Iraq, “Zain committed itself to provide support for the most important segment of the society, the youth. In order to honor this commitment, we are launching today this training program which will enable the top ten students in their majors to get exposed to the professional environment, and experience real life situations in the workplace. In fact, the first obstacle fresh graduates face is their lack of experience, which is a top priority for companies and institutions when recruiting. Add to it, the difficulty to apply their studies to answer the daily challenges and practice. This is where the objective of this program lies, as it helps them overcome these obstacles”.

Al-Zahid concluded: "The program will provide the top 30 students from the Universities of Baghdad, Mustansiriya and Nahrain the opportunity to engage in the workplace environment and get an experience in many of our departments, namely: direct sales, IT, networks, customer service, marketing and analysis as well as corporate communication. They will get in return certificates of appreciation and recommendation letters".

Dr. Omar Mohammed Nasser, Director of Follow-up Authority in the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, said: "We appreciate this first of its kind program initiated by Zain Iraq, as it’s the result of the significant cooperation between Zain, the Ministry and several universities. We hope it sets a benchmark for students to place them on the right track”.

Zain Iraq launched #Hassa_eliyah, a specialized platform to embrace Iraqi young talents, encourage and support them to achieve their development and communicate with the world. The program is based on innovative methods to activate the relationship with the Iraqi youth, and it is the start of a new approach using a new language in line with the young generation aspiration and dreams.
