Ali Al-Zahid brings in total 17 years of extensive experience with international telecom operators including Orange Austria, O2 Germany (Telefonica), and Zain Iraq, as well as a management consultant working with two European based management consultancy entities. Ali was in his most recent role as the Chief Commercial Officer of Zain Iraq before being promoted as the CEO of Zain Iraq. Ali combines a deep background in brand, marketing and commercial strategies with proven operational leadership across the fastest-growing markets across Europe, Middle East and Africa. Ali Al-Zahid graduated in 2004 with a Master of Science in Management & Communication, from Danube University Krems (Austria) and he has Master’s degree of the TRIUM Global Executive MBA with the London School of Economics, HEC Paris, and NYU Stern. He speaks fluent German, English, and Arabic.
Samer joined Zain Iraq early 2009, and has more than 15 years of financial, auditing and managerial experience in the telecommunications sector. He was appointed as a Finance Director in 2011 overseeing Finance and Supply Chain Departments at Zain Iraq, now he is following his current position as the Chief Financial Officer. Prior to joining Zain Iraq, Samer had solid finance and auditing background specialized in Telecommunications with a previous role as Audit Manager at Ernst and Young, leading professional services firm. Samer is a Chartered Certified Accountant, and a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants in the UK.
Samer holds an MBA jointly from London School of Economics and Political Science, New York University and HEC Paris, and a BA in Accounting and Finance from Birzeit University.
Mr. Mohammed Samir started his career in 2003 with Iraqna-(Orascom Telecom subsidiary) at the marketing department and worked his way up until he was appointed as the marketing director in 2011. in Feb 2017, he was promoted to the position of chief commercial officer where he looks after marketing, consumer and B2B sales, and customers care. Mohamed has extensive experience in the commercial field and has successfully led several strategic projects in the company including the launch of the nationwide 3G network. As a natural and talented leader, Mohammed contributed heavily to the building and growing the organization throughout his 14 years of his tenure.
Mr. Mohammed holds a Bachelor’s Degree in computer and software engineering from Technology University in Baghdad.
Ahmed Abdulsalam was appointed as the CTO of Zain Iraq in April 2018. He began his carrier in 2004 at Iraqna and he had, since then, held many managerial positions including the most recent one as the Director of Operation.
He brings wide experience in network transformation, strategy and development and has delivered various modernization projects during his time at Zain Iraq.
Ahmed was graduated from the University of Technology in Baghdad with a B.Sc. in Electrical and Electronic Engineering followed by an MBA degree in 2015 from Imperial College London Business School.
Mr. Yurtsever joined Zain Iraq as its Chief Strategy & Business Development Officer at the beginning of 2016 and is currently responsible for strategy management, business planning, developing and launching new services including digital services, expanding the business in new regions, corporate PMO, business excellence, business intelligence and analytics functions. He comes with a career spanning for over 20 years working and consulting with global institutions such as OC&C Strategy Consultants, Teknort, and Accenture whilst specializing and managing TMT projects in strategy and operations including that of Zain Group and Iraq for the last 10 years combined. He holds an MBA from Carnegie Mellon University (Tepper School of Business) and a Masters & Bachelors in Electrical & Electronics Engineering from Imperial College London.
Rasha joined Zain Iraq in March 2019 bringing more than 17 years of experience and a proven track record of success spanning across all aspects of HR management. In her new position, she oversees talent acquisition and management, innovative organization development, staff training programs as well as enhancement of internal policies, systems and procedures.
Prior to joining Zain Iraq, Rasha spent 14 years with Zain Jordan. From a team member, she managed to climb the corporate ladder to become Chief Innovation and Human Capital Officer. She handled several responsibilities such as Human Resources, Corporate Entrepreneurship Responsibility & Youth Development.
Rasha holds MSc in Human Resources Development for the University of Manchester and MSc in Coaching & Consulting for Change from HEC & Oxford and had completed an executive program at MIT in Mastering Design Thinking.
