Zain Iraq Achieves ISO 22301:2019 Certification for Business Continuity Management System

Leading the way as Iraq's first telecommunications company to receive this certification across all operations and services

Baghdad — March 2025: Zain Iraq, one of Zain Group's leading mobile and data communications services in the Middle East and North Africa region, has obtained the ISO 22301:2019 Business Continuity Management System Certification, the global standard for organizational resilience and continuity planning. This achievement distinguishes Zain as the first telecommunications company in Iraq to secure this prestigious certification across all its operations and telecommunications services.

The certification was awarded after Zain Iraq met all the latest requirements for business continuity management in telecommunications operations and services. This achievement strengthens Zain's operational framework and security systems, ensuring uninterrupted service delivery before, during and after crisis situations. This accomplishment aligns with Zain's vision and strategic roadmap to continuously improve its services and update its business models.

Zain Iraq received the Business Continuity Management System Certification from ISO, which is a Quality Assurance Certification according to top international standards. The ISO 22301 standard outlines what organizations need to do to create and manage an effective business continuity system. It sets out how companies should prepare, implement, operate, monitor, review, and maintain systems that help reduce risks, recover from incidents, and navigate market challenges. Additionally, the certification allows organizations to identify essential methods to ensure business continuity, develop strategic plans, implement protective measures, conduct regular monitoring and inspections, and design effective recovery strategies for responding to catastrophic events.
