Zain Iraq sponsors the first National general assembly (NGA) for International Federation for medical students associations in Iraq (IFMSA-Iraq)


Supporting the Iraqi youth and enabling them in all scopes.

Zain Iraq, part of Zain Group, a leading telecom innovator in eight markets across the Middle East and Africa, participated in sponsoring the ceremony of the first National general assembly (NGA) for the International Federation for Medical Students Associations (IFMSA) in Iraq which was hosted at Mansour Millia hotel in Baghdad for a duration of 2 days on the 26th and 27th of February. This sponsorship is a practical translation of Zain Iraq’s vision and strategy which revolve around supporting and encouraging young Iraqi capabilities in all sectors and through all means, as well as helping them achieve their Ambitions and dreams.

The first assembly witnessed wide participation including many medical students from all Iraqi provinces, medical professors, representatives from some countries’ embassies, and representatives from the Iraqi Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Youth and Sports as well as civil society organizations.

While commenting on this sponsorship, Haider Ekab – Director of Corporate Communication and Public Relation said, “Zain Iraq believes that the youth are the beating heart of Iraqi society and its future. Through its various programs, the company continuously aims to support young capabilities, enabling them in many different fields and scopes. The International Federation of Medical Students Association in Iraq (IFMSA-Iraq) has been established in order to train medical students and qualify them to serve the Iraqi society. It also functions as the Iraqi medical students' representative in the international federation of Medial Students association.
