Zain Iraq Receives Honors at The 2016 Digital PR Awards

Zain Iraq claimed another big win on November 16 at the Yale Club New York, taking home a Digital PR Award in the video category for its youth empowerment campaign HassaEliya. Zain Iraq was recognized for its innovative communication alongside a fortune 500 company, beating international PR firms.

The PR News Group at Access Intelligence, LLC is a go-to source that serves the communications and marketing community at corporations, agencies, and nonprofits. Every year it honors the top digital communications campaigns at its prestigious annual Digital PR Awards luncheon.

HassaEliya – NOW IS MINE, is a youth empowerment campaign that constitutes a youth-dedicated digital environment that creates opportunities for young Iraqis across interests and job sectors. Its success is the product of an insightful and effective marketing strategy brought to life through Zain Iraq’s marketing communications’ partner J. Walter Thompson – Levant The campaign was launched with an inspiring and empowerment anthem and music video of 3 bands of 17 underground artists, inviting and encouraging others to join in raising their voice, sharing their talents and pursuing their dreams. The video went viral on social media platforms, attracting a staggering 5 million views on Facebook and YouTube within 72 hours of the launch.

The Zain Iraq team first launched the HassaEliya anthem online, spilling over to offline by securing TV coverage on all media channels across Iraq. However, Facebook was the main channel for the campaign, as it is the most popular social media platform in Iraq.
