Zain offers special discounts on Internet and calls in addition to many promotions dedicated to the people of al-Anbar.

With Iraq’s retrieval of al-Anbar province, rehabilitation processes are underway, helping its population to rebuild their lives, claim their homes and secure their requirements including electricity, water, telecommunications, roads and all other civilian facilities. Zain Iraq, part of Zain Group, a leading telecom innovator in eight markets across the Middle East and Africa, believes its participation in this process is an important national responsibility, so as to ensure secure telecommunication services in the province, because of their importance and their vital role in allowing its people and returning residents to communicate with each other as well as the outside world.

Zain Iraq worked to address all security challenges and difficulties for the rehabilitation of the networks and telecommunications infrastructure, mobilizing all its engineering teams and collaborating with its technical partners to build new telecommunications towers, sites and mobile phone networks across the province so as to ensure the return of normal telecommunications services. It worked towards maintaining the highest quality possible, in record time with a financial cost that exceeded millions of dollars, being the first company to open sales and service centers scattered throughout al-Anbar. This stems from the company’s permanent keenness to provide all kinds of recharge cards and lines to enable the people of al-Anbar to stay in touch with the world. The company has started the process of replacing sim cards, making registration free of charge in all its accredited centers to facilitate al-Anbar’s citizens' access to new lines.

Zain Iraq was determined to provide these services to its subscribers in Anbar as well as elsewhere in Iraq before Eid al-Fitr. In fact, it is the first and only company to offer and launch third generation services and Internet in the province with distinctive promotions exclusive to the people of Anbar. In fact, Zain’s high-quality services reflect the extent of its commitment to provide the best services and to facilitate the lives of people who reside in this province.

Dr. Haider Radhi Chief Operating Officer at Zain Iraq Commented on the revival of the telecommunication services in Anbar saying: "Zain Iraq, along with the people of Anbar, are working together to secure their needs and to recover the telecommunications sector. This is being done through the rehabilitation of its networks and infrastructure, and providing them with innovative high-quality telecommunications services, especially internet and third generation technology, now available for the very first time in Anbar. This could truly contribute to the revival of the province, especially since the telecommunications sector is considered to be one of the most vital sectors which will help the local community to advance and return to its normal state. Anbar’s population suffered the bitterness of displacement and injustice of terrorism, making it our duty to offer them all the support they need. This way, we would be building on the previous campaigns that we launched in collaboration with international organizations and active local associations to support displaced people. This is an essential part of our strategy as a company which prioritizes corporate social responsibility, considering it an integral part of our vision.”

Zain Iraq confirms that it will remain in contact with the returnees and residents of al-Anbar in various ways, particularly through its service centers and points of sale in order to remain up-to-speed on all the developments and emerging requirements of its people. Zain Iraq and its team are determined to ensure that this transition phase is as short and smooth as possible, thus easing the burden of the challenges that await the returnees.
